Supporting Communities through the COVID-19 Crisis

During the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, Child Development Nepal (CDN) played a vital role in protecting vulnerable children and families across Sarlahi district. As schools closed and livelihoods were disrupted, communities faced increased risks of learning loss, food insecurity and health threats. CDN responded with timely interventions providing hygiene kits, masks, sanitizers and awareness materials to promote safety. Families received essential food support, while teachers and children were engaged through home-based learning materials, phone-based follow-up and community-level guidance. These efforts helped reduce learning gaps, improved hygiene practices, and ensured that children remained safe, connected and supported during the crisis. Communities expressed deep gratitude to CDN for standing beside them when they needed help the most, turning a difficult time into a story of resilience and hope.
