"Civic Engagement lnitiatives in the Post-Gen Z Context in Nepal"
About This Project
Child Development Nepal (CDN) is a youth-centered development organization working to strengthen civic engagement and democratic participation among Gen Z youth in Madhesh Province. With over a decade of grassroots experience, CDN empowers young people especially women and marginalized communities to become informed, confident, and active civic leaders.
With support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Governance and Rule of Law portfolio in Madhesh Province, CDN implements inclusive, youth-friendly, and digital-first civic engagement initiatives. These programs respond to the evolving aspirations of Gen Z by combining civic literacy, policy dialogue, and collective action.
Through town halls, policy dialogues, youth leadership trainings, and innovative digital learning tools, CDN creates safe spaces where young people can engage directly with local governments and influence decision-making. Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) is integrated across all activities, ensuring meaningful participation of young women, Dalit, Madhesi, Janajati, and other marginalized youth.
By bridging the gap between youth and institutions, CDN contributes to stronger democratic resilience, inclusive governance, and accountable public systems in Madhesh Province.
